Workshops with Tara Bennett-Goleman
- December 16–18, 2011
Emotional Alchemy
with Tara Bennett-GolemanIn an innovative synthesis of mindfulness and cognitive therapy, with insights from neuroscience and Buddhist psychology, this experiential weekend provides practical guidance for transforming emotional confusion into insightful clarity, fostering a more genuine connection with ourselves and the people in our lives.
Drawing on their best-selling books, including Emotional Alchemy and Emotional Intelligence, psychotherapist and author Tara Bennett-Goleman and psychologist and journalist Daniel Goleman guide us in learning to respond in our relationships with awareness rather than reacting in outmoded, automatic ways. The weekend includes instruction in mindfulness practice—sustained moment-by-moment awareness—as a tool for increasing and enhancing our awareness in working with self-defeating habits. We also consider how to integrate a mindful poise with therapeutic tools to enhance their effectiveness outside of the therapeutic setting. Material from Daniel’s most recent book, Social Intelligence, is also included.
This weekend is appropriate for mental-health professionals and leadership coaches who want to apply this approach in their work, as well as for all those who want more freedom and ease in their lives.
